Short Story Symposium: About

The growing number of e-reader and smartphone devices has allowed for a resurrection of the short story form. Though never totally dead, the genre has experienced severe setbacks in the past due to publishing costs. E-books are a perfect way for both new and old authors to explore the worlds that different story lengths unlock.

The Short Story Symposium is a blog designed for the reader interested in exploring this form. All posts will include excepts from longer works or even complete flash fiction stories. Before you read the samples, please read the different types of short stories to find out which style would suit you best.

I don't charge any of the authors to have their stories featured on this blog. I started Short Story Symposium because I wanted there to be a resource for readers to explore short form fiction. It's a completely different type of reading experience that has influenced our culture more than most people realize. I strongly believe in making people aware of short stories in this e-reader era.
